Pulpit Rabbis are trained to offer spiritual, educational, and pastoral services to their communities.
Then there are Rabbis who specialize as Poskim — halachic decisors. They are trained and uniquely qualified to interpret and rule on the broad spectrum of Jewish law.
The goal of Kollel L’Rabbonei Hora’ah is to expertly prepare select rabbis in the Atlanta Metro area to become Poskim.
The learning in this 8-year training program is text-based, and includes Gemara, Bais Yosef, Shulchan Aruch, classic commentaries, and modern halachic sources. A special emphasis is placed on Shimush — personalized training — and practical application.
Tests are administered by leading Poskim in the world. Upon concluding the program, the participating rabbis will receive certification to be able to effectively Pasken Halachah — issue Halachic rulings — for their communities.
An important component of this program is that throughout the year the rabbis will offer lectures to the community on contemporary and cutting edge issues based on the unique perspective of Jewish law.
Kollel L’Rabbonei Hora’ah is generously sponsored by Samuel Silver & Barbara Coveny in loving memory of David & Gertrude Silver.
