Timed with Tisha B'Av, a profound day of mourning on the Jewish calendar, The Torah Center of Atlanta is proud to present an exclusive screening of Holy Smokes, a gripping new documentary from filmmaker Yoel Gold that has to be seen to be believed.
Deep in an archaeological dig for vessels once used in the Beis Hamikdash, researchers uncovered something no one expected to find intact after two thousand years: the Ketores itself, the sacred incense whose fragrance once filled the Kodesh Hakodashim. It is a discovery so sensitive that some in the Israeli government have reportedly worked for decades to keep it buried.
Now, for the first time, the secret is out — and the story of how it was found, and why it was hidden, is nothing short of extraordinary.
This Tisha B'Av, as we mourn the loss of the Beis Hamikdash, come witness a piece of it brought back into the light. Holy Smokes is an unmissable film experience — equal parts mystery, faith, and hope for what's still to come.
